Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (True Whisper) by Sohan Qadri was sold in the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,333.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sohan Qadri - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in October 2021 for GBP 35,280.00 (€ 41,797.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (True Whisper) von Sohan Qadri wurde im März 2020 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.333,76) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Sohan Qadri mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für GBP 35.280,00 (€ 41.797,27) versteigert wurde.
