The work Untitled (Invocation) by Sohan Qadri was sold in the The Surya Collection: Property from Mrs. Ute Rettberg auction at Sothebys in London in May last year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 9,450.00 (€ 11,117.03), 35% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sohan Qadri - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in October 2021 for GBP 35,280.00 (€ 41,797.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Invocation) von Sohan Qadri wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion The Surya Collection: Property from Mrs. Ute Rettberg bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 9.450,00 (€ 11.117,03) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Sohan Qadri mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für GBP 35.280,00 (€ 41.797,27) versteigert wurde.
