In March 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Untitled (Orange Murmur) by Sohan Qadri. The »bidding war« ended at USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,146.10), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Sohan Qadri have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 35,280.00 (€ 41,797.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Orange Murmur) von Sohan Qadri zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 10.146,10) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sohan Qadri auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.280,00 (€ 41.797,27).
