Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2004 Christies in London held the auction Victorian Pictures including The John H. Schaeffer, which included the work The Catapult or Slingboy by William Reid Dick. The price achieved of GBP 5,377.50 (€ 8,003.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Reid Dick have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sir Winston Churchill in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 28,100.00 (€ 36,753.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian Pictures including The John H. Schaeffer durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Catapult or Slingboy von William Reid Dick zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.377,50 (€ 8.003,33) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Reid Dick auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sir Winston Churchill im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 28.100,00 (€ 36.753,70).
