Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of Sir Ralph Verney, 1St Bt. (1613-1696) by Peter Lely was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 15,752.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Lely achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Identified As Barbara Palmer, Née Villiers (1640-1709), Countess Of Castlemaine And 1St Duchess Of Cleveland, Three-Quarter-Length, In A Yellow Dress, A Coastal Landscape Beyond in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 368,750.00 (€ 414,974.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of Sir Ralph Verney, 1St Bt. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Identified As Barbara Palmer, Née Villiers (1640-1709), Countess Of Castlemaine And 1St Duchess Of Cleveland, Three-Quarter-Length, In A Yellow Dress, A Coastal Landscape Beyond im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 368.750,00 (€ 414.974,11).
