In December 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Evening Sale, which included the work Portrait of Philip Stanhope, 2nd Earl of Chesterfield (1634–1714) |《菲利普・斯坦霍普,切斯特菲爾德伯爵二世(1634–1714年)肖像》 by Peter Lely. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 200,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 226,800.00 (€ 253,355.81). Other works by Peter Lely have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 368,750.00 (€ 414,974.11) in December 2017 for the work Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Identified As Barbara Palmer, Née Villiers (1640-1709), Countess Of Castlemaine And 1St Duchess Of Cleveland, Three-Quarter-Length, In A Yellow Dress, A Coastal Landscape Beyond.

Im Dezember 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Philip Stanhope, 2nd Earl of Chesterfield (1634–1714) |《菲利普・斯坦霍普,切斯特菲爾德伯爵二世(1634–1714年)肖像》 von Peter Lely zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 200.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 226.800,00 (€ 253.355,81) einen neuen Besitzer.
