The work Portrait Of Diana Russell, Lady Newport (1624-1694), Three-Quarter-Length, In An Oyster Satin Dress Embellished With Jewels, In A Wooded Landscape by Peter Lely was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 50,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 76,384.80) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Peter Lely have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Identified As Barbara Palmer, Née Villiers (1640-1709), Countess Of Castlemaine And 1St Duchess Of Cleveland, Three-Quarter-Length, In A Yellow Dress, A Coastal Landscape Beyond in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 368,750.00 (€ 414,974.11).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 50.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 56.250,00 (€ 76.384,80) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
