This artwork by Peter Lely achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Olympia in November 2006. In the British and Continental Pictures including Marine pictures auction, the work Portrait Of Anne Hyde, Duchess Of York sold for GBP 2,880.00 (€ 4,276.89) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Lely achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Identified As Barbara Palmer, Née Villiers (1640-1709), Countess Of Castlemaine And 1St Duchess Of Cleveland, Three-Quarter-Length, In A Yellow Dress, A Coastal Landscape Beyond in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 368,750.00 (€ 414,974.11).
