Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Young Woman by Noël Coward was sold in the Modern British & Irish Art auction at Christies in London in December 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 3,055.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Noël Coward achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The View from Firefly in March 2015 with an auction result of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 60,486.69).

Die Arbeit Portrait Of A Young Woman von Noël Coward wurde im Dezember 2015 in der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 3.055,39) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Noël Coward erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The View from Firefly im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 60.486,69).
