Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Noël Coward achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2019. In the Modern | British Art auction, the work Portofino sold for GBP 13,750.00 (€ 16,145.86) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Noël Coward - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The View from Firefly, which sold at auction in March 2015 for GBP 43,750.00 (€ 60,486.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Noël Coward erzielte im November 2019 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern | British Art wurde die Arbeit Portofino für GBP 13.750,00 (€ 16.145,86) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Noël Coward mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The View from Firefly beobachtet, die im März 2015 für GBP 43.750,00 (€ 60.486,69) versteigert wurde.
