In March 2015 Christies in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work A Jamaican landscape with mother and child by Noël Coward. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,125.00 (€ 11,233.24), 63% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Noël Coward have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The View from Firefly in March 2015 with an auction result of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 60,486.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 63 % übertroffen
Im März 2015 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Jamaican landscape with mother and child von Noël Coward zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 11.233,24) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Noël Coward auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The View from Firefly im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 60.486,69).
