Auction result well in line with expectations

However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Watson Gordon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Richard Raines Savage, full-length, seated, in a black coat and white waistcoat, with two dogs, in a landscape, which sold at auction in December 2000 for GBP 17,037.50 (€ 27,140.59).
