Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Watson Gordon could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction, the work Portrait Of Charles Lamb (1775-1834) changed hands for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 23,882.46) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Other works by John Watson Gordon have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December 2000 by the work Portrait of Richard Raines Savage, full-length, seated, in a black coat and white waistcoat, with two dogs, in a landscape at GBP 17,037.50 (€ 27,140.59).

Andere Arbeiten von John Watson Gordon wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Dezember 2000 die Arbeit Portrait of Richard Raines Savage, full-length, seated, in a black coat and white waistcoat, with two dogs, in a landscape mit GBP 17.037,50 (€ 27.140,59).
