Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2003 Christies in London held the auction British & Continental Watercolours including Original Book, which included the work Cardinal Pandolphus At The Ex-Communication Of King John by John Gilbert. The price achieved of GBP 528.75 (€ 748.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Admittedly, works by John Gilbert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The marriage of Katherine and Petruchio: The Taming of the Shrew in November 2012 with an auction result of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,159.49).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 528,75 (€ 748,91) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden.
