Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two Gilded Panels Believed To Come From One Of The Royal Coaches Of George I, With Classical Personifications Of England And Scotland Bearing Armorial Shields Monogramed With The King'S Initials by James Thornhill was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2010. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,011.94) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Thornhill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Proposed Design For The Saloon Ceiling At Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire: The Apotheosis of Hercules in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 45,600.00 (€ 67,582.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Two Gilded Panels Believed To Come From One Of The Royal Coaches Of George I, With Classical Personifications Of England And Scotland Bearing Armorial Shields Monogramed With The King'S Initials von James Thornhill kam im Juli 2010 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion.
