In May 2000 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Summer Evening, Paris by Henry George Rushbury. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 940.00 (€ 1,508.35), 18% above the upper estimate. Other works by Henry George Rushbury have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,083.66) in June 2006 for the work Hotel Bretonvilliers, Paris.
