The »bidding war« ended at GBP 822.50 (€ 1,164.96), 65% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Henry George Rushbury; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Hotel Bretonvilliers, Paris sold at auction in June 2006 with the realized price of GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,083.66).
