Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bougainvillea by Gerald Kelly was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2016. The price achieved of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,553.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerald Kelly achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Glass of Sherry in the Studio, Portrait of W. Somerset Maugham in November 2020 with an auction result of GBP 94,000.00 (€ 104,935.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Bougainvillea von Gerald Kelly kam im Dezember 2016 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.553,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerald Kelly erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Glass of Sherry in the Studio, Portrait of W. Somerset Maugham im November 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 94.000,00 (€ 104.935,72).
