This artwork by Gerald Kelly achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2018. In the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction, the work Jane Xiii sold for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,711.33) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gerald Kelly have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Glass of Sherry in the Studio, Portrait of W. Somerset Maugham in November 2020 with an auction result of GBP 94,000.00 (€ 104,935.72).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Gerald Kelly erzielte im Dezember 2018 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art wurde die Arbeit Jane Xiii für GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.711,33) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gerald Kelly auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Glass of Sherry in the Studio, Portrait of W. Somerset Maugham im November 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 94.000,00 (€ 104.935,72).
