Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study Of Two Girls Walking by David Wilkie was auctioned at Sothebys in London in February 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 1,020.72) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Wilkie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Spanish Girl in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 363,650.00 (€ 522,024.96).

Die Arbeit Study Of Two Girls Walking von David Wilkie kam im Februar 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 875,00 (€ 1.020,72) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Wilkie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Spanish Girl im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 363.650,00 (€ 522.024,96).
