Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by David Wilkie could be acquired at Christies in London in July last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Paintings & Sculpture Online auction, the work A highland interior with a bagpipe player changed hands for GBP 6,930.00 (€ 8,275.65) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Wilkie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Spanish Girl in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 363,650.00 (€ 522,024.96).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von David Wilkie konnte im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings & Sculpture Online wechselte die Arbeit A highland interior with a bagpipe player für GBP 6.930,00 (€ 8.275,65) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Wilkie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Spanish Girl im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 363.650,00 (€ 522.024,96).
