It achieved a price of GBP 15,120.00 (€ 18,055.97), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 26%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Wilkie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Spanish Girl in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 363,650.00 (€ 522,024.96).

Die Arbeit A view of Cults von David Wilkie kam im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 15.120,00 (€ 18.055,97) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 26%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Wilkie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Spanish Girl im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 363.650,00 (€ 522.024,96).
