Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Olive Trees by Cedric Morris for GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,312.99). This price was achieved in the auction Modern British & Irish Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cedric Morris achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poppies in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 131,000.00 (€ 149,184.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Olive Trees von Cedric Morris für GBP 5.000,00 (€ 6.312,99) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cedric Morris erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Poppies im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 131.000,00 (€ 149.184,56).
