Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work May Flowering Irises No. 2 by Cedric Morris was worth GBP 45,000.00 (€ 63,449.44) to a buyer in June 2015. This price was achieved in the auction Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale, London at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cedric Morris - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Poppies, which sold at auction in June 2017 for GBP 131,000.00 (€ 149,184.56).

Die Arbeit May Flowering Irises No. 2 von Cedric Morris war einem Käufer im Juni 2015 GBP 45.000,00 (€ 63.449,44) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale, London bei Christies in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00 um ein Vielfaches.
