This artwork by Cedric Morris achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2016. In the Modern British & Irish Art auction, the work Irises And Tulips sold for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 34,721.47) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Cedric Morris have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Poppies in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 131,000.00 (€ 149,184.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 83 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cedric Morris erzielte im März 2016 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Irises And Tulips für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 34.721,47) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cedric Morris auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Poppies im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 131.000,00 (€ 149.184,56).
