Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Cedric Morris achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2016. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Fritillaria sold for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,793.79) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Cedric Morris have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Poppies in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 131,000.00 (€ 149,184.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cedric Morris erzielte im Juli 2016 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Fritillaria für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 20.793,79) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cedric Morris auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Poppies im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 131.000,00 (€ 149.184,56).
