Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2015 Christies in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale, London, which included the work Bitterns by Cedric Morris. It changed hands for a price of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 31,724.72) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Cedric Morris have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Poppies in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 131,000.00 (€ 149,184.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2015 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale, London durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bitterns von Cedric Morris zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 31.724,72) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cedric Morris auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Poppies im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 131.000,00 (€ 149.184,56).
