Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Driftwood, Maine by Simon Parkes was sold in the American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,250.00 (€ 2,063.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Simon Parkes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Middle of Hardings Beach, which sold at auction in May 2021 for USD 7,012.50 (€ 5,750.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Driftwood, Maine von Simon Parkes wurde im September 2019 in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.250,00 (€ 2.063,27) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
