Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Simon Parkes could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in July 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art Online auction, the work Cedar Point, East Hampton, Long Island changed hands for USD 2,125.00 (€ 1,909.25) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Simon Parkes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Middle of Hardings Beach, which sold at auction in May 2021 for USD 7,012.50 (€ 5,750.78).
