Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 3 Mile Harbor, Long Island by Simon Parkes was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2016. It changed hands for a price of USD 2,750.00 (€ 2,492.75) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Simon Parkes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Middle of Hardings Beach, which sold at auction in May 2021 for USD 7,012.50 (€ 5,750.78).
