Sold at the upper estimate price
In September 2018 Phillips in New York held the auction New Now, which included this untitled work by Shusaku Arakawa. The auction ended at the price of USD 35,000.00 (€ 30,115.30), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Shusaku Arakawa have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vertical Thought in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 137,500.00 (€ 156,776.91).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im September 2018 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Shusaku Arakawa zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 30.115,30) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shusaku Arakawa auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Vertical Thought im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 137.500,00 (€ 156.776,91).
