Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Mukai Shuji was auctioned at Phillips in New York in May 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 22,500.00 (€ 20,181.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mukai Shuji - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Work 11, which sold at auction in October 2016 for HKD 350,000.00 (€ 41,187.74).
