Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Little Black Hen by Ernest Shepard was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2011. The price achieved of USD 46,875.00 (€ 31,627.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ernest Shepard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work "Here Is Edward Bear, Coming Downstairs Now, Bump, Bump, Bump, On The Back Of His Head, Behind Christopher Robin." in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 139,250.00 (€ 171,733.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Little Black Hen von Ernest Shepard kam im April 2011 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 46.875,00 (€ 31.627,42) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ernest Shepard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit "Here Is Edward Bear, Coming Downstairs Now, Bump, Bump, Bump, On The Back Of His Head, Behind Christopher Robin." im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 139.250,00 (€ 171.733,92).
