In November 2012 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Landscapes and Figures by Shen Zongqian. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 137,500.00 (€ 13,633.74), 72% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Shen Zongqian have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy in April this year with an auction result of HKD 78,000.00 (€ 79,653.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 72 % übertroffen
Im November 2012 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscapes and Figures von Shen Zongqian zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 137.500,00 (€ 13.633,74) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shen Zongqian auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 78.000,00 (€ 79.653,26).
