Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Landscape after Dong Qichang by Shen Zongqian was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 80,000.00 – 160,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 94,500.00 (€ 11,425.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Shen Zongqian have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy in April this year with an auction result of HKD 78,000.00 (€ 79,653.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Landscape after Dong Qichang von Shen Zongqian wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 160.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 94.500,00 (€ 11.425,74) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shen Zongqian auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 78.000,00 (€ 79.653,26).
