Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy, which included the work Waterfall In The Pine Forest by Shen Zongjing. Here, the upper estimate of USD 45,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 50,000.00 (€ 42,326.25). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shen Zongjing - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscapes after Yuan Masters, which sold at auction in November 2017 for HKD 1,187,500.00 (€ 127,852.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Waterfall In The Pine Forest von Shen Zongjing zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 45.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 50.000,00 (€ 42.326,25) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Shen Zongjing mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscapes after Yuan Masters beobachtet, die im November 2017 für HKD 1.187.500,00 (€ 127.852,37) versteigert wurde.
