This artwork by Shen Zongjing achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2016. In the The Roy and Marilyn Papp Collection of Chinese Paintings auction, the work Views Of Thousands Of Miles sold for USD 81,250.00 (€ 72,299.34) - well above the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Shen Zongjing; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Landscapes after Yuan Masters sold at auction in November 2017 with the realized price of HKD 1,187,500.00 (€ 127,852.37).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Shen Zongjing erzielte im September 2016 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Roy and Marilyn Papp Collection of Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Views Of Thousands Of Miles für USD 81.250,00 (€ 72.299,34) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 40.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Shen Zongjing; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Landscapes after Yuan Masters im November 2017 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 1.187.500,00 (€ 127.852,37).
