Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Shen Congwen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2020. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Two Poems In Zhangcao sold for HKD 567,000.00 (€ 62,799.86) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 250,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Shen Congwen; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Calligraphy sold at auction in April this year with the realized price of HKD 66,000.00 (€ 67,398.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Shen Congwen erzielte im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Two Poems In Zhangcao für HKD 567.000,00 (€ 62.799,86) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 250.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Shen Congwen; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Calligraphy im April diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 66.000,00 (€ 67.398,91).
