The work Correspondences with Li Chaoren by Shang Yanliu was sold in the Dawn of Spring: Chinese Paintings Online auction at Christies in Hong Kong in March last year. It achieved a price of HKD 37,800.00 (€ 4,351.45), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 51%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shang Yanliu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy In Running Script, which sold at auction in April this year for HKD 12,000.00 (€ 12,254.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Correspondences with Li Chaoren von Shang Yanliu wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion Dawn of Spring: Chinese Paintings Online bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 37.800,00 (€ 4.351,45) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 51%. Für andere Arbeiten von Shang Yanliu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für HKD 12.000,00 (€ 12.254,35) versteigert wurde.
