Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Ink Bamboo by Shang Yanliu was worth HKD 33,040.00 (€ 3,776.42) to a buyer in October 2019. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy at China Guardian in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 8,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shang Yanliu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy In Running Script, which sold at auction in April this year for HKD 12,000.00 (€ 12,254.35).

Die Arbeit Ink Bamboo von Shang Yanliu war einem Käufer im Oktober 2019 HKD 33.040,00 (€ 3.776,42) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy bei China Guardian in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 8.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Shang Yanliu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für HKD 12.000,00 (€ 12.254,35) versteigert wurde.
