Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Riding The Written by Shahzia Sikander. Here, the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 21,250.00 (€ 18,925.90). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shahzia Sikander achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Veil 'N Trail in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 325,000.00 (€ 208,761.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Riding The Written von Shahzia Sikander zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 21.250,00 (€ 18.925,90) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shahzia Sikander erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Veil 'N Trail im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 325.000,00 (€ 208.761,56).
