This artwork by Seth Price achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November last year. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Rope sold for USD 126,000.00 (€ 122,057.54) - well above the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Seth Price - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cheap Wall, which sold at auction in May 2015 for USD 449,000.00 (€ 408,404.58).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 80 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Seth Price erzielte im November letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Rope für USD 126.000,00 (€ 122.057,54) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 70.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Seth Price mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cheap Wall beobachtet, die im Mai 2015 für USD 449.000,00 (€ 408.404,58) versteigert wurde.
