Auction result well in line with expectations
The work No. 120 by Sérgio de Camargo was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 260,000.00 – 350,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 277,200.00 (€ 232,005.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Sérgio de Camargo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Relief No. 21/52) in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 2,165,000.00 (€ 1,591,209.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit No. 120 von Sérgio de Camargo kam im November 2020 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 260.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 277.200,00 (€ 232.005,36) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sérgio de Camargo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Relief No. 21/52) im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.165.000,00 (€ 1.591.209,76).
