Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Oriental desires by Serge Marshennikov was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,840.00 (€ 10,014.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Serge Marshennikov - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Harem Dreams, which sold at auction in November 2006 for GBP 21,600.00 (€ 32,076.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Oriental desires von Serge Marshennikov kam im April 2007 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.840,00 (€ 10.014,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Serge Marshennikov mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Harem Dreams beobachtet, die im November 2006 für GBP 21.600,00 (€ 32.076,68) versteigert wurde.
