Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Nuits de la Fondation Maeght by Saul Steinberg was sold in the Deck the WallsPrints & Multiples auction at Bonhams in New York in December 2021. The price achieved of USD 765.00 (€ 675.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 600.00 – 900.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Saul Steinberg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Twenty Americans (Twenty Professions) in November last year with an auction result of USD 113,400.00 (€ 109,851.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Nuits de la Fondation Maeght von Saul Steinberg wurde im Dezember 2021 in der Auktion Deck the WallsPrints & Multiples bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 765,00 (€ 675,91) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 600,00 – 900,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Saul Steinberg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Twenty Americans (Twenty Professions) im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 113.400,00 (€ 109.851,79).
