Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Avril pour "Elle" II by Sarah Moon was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in April last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 3,780.00. Admittedly, works by Sarah Moon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fashion 4, Yohji Yamamoto in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 37,500.00 (€ 32,197.13).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Avril pour "Elle" II von Sarah Moon im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 3.780,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sarah Moon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fashion 4, Yohji Yamamoto im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 32.197,13).
