This artwork by Sarah Lucas achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2021. In the First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online auction, the work Beer Can Penis sold for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 11,013.21) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sarah Lucas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bunny Gets Snookered #8 in May this year with an auction result of USD 736,600.00 (€ 691,383.52).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sarah Lucas erzielte im März 2021 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online wurde die Arbeit Beer Can Penis für GBP 9.375,00 (€ 11.013,21) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sarah Lucas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bunny Gets Snookered #8 im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 736.600,00 (€ 691.383,52).
