Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mirror Mirror by Sara Pope was auctioned at Bonhams in December last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,500.00 – 5,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,550.00 (€ 2,878.70). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sara Pope - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Decadence (Pink), which sold at auction in April 2020 for GBP 6,500.00 (€ 7,477.23).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Mirror Mirror von Sara Pope im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.500,00 – 5.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.550,00 (€ 2.878,70) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Sara Pope mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Decadence (Pink) beobachtet, die im April 2020 für GBP 6.500,00 (€ 7.477,23) versteigert wurde.
