Auction result well in line with expectations
In December last year Bonhams held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work Lips 1 by Sara Pope. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 510.00 (€ 575.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sara Pope achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Decadence (Pink) in April 2020 with an auction result of GBP 6,500.00 (€ 7,477.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Prints and Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lips 1 von Sara Pope zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 510,00 (€ 575,74) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sara Pope erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Decadence (Pink) im April 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.500,00 (€ 7.477,23).
