Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2001 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work The Deposition by Santi di Tito. Here, the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 32,900.00 (€ 36,584.01). Admittedly, works by Santi di Tito have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a gentleman, three-quarter-length, in a black embroidered silk doublet and cloak, with a ruff, holding gloves and a letter in his left hand, a lute on the table in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 158,500.00 (€ 224,699.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2001 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Deposition von Santi di Tito zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 32.900,00 (€ 36.584,01) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Santi di Tito auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, three-quarter-length, in a black embroidered silk doublet and cloak, with a ruff, holding gloves and a letter in his left hand, a lute on the table im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 158.500,00 (€ 224.699,76).
